We are celebrating Global Handwashing Day

Let’s help prevent the spread of infections

Global Handwashing Day aims to encourage you to maintain good hand hygiene to combat the spread of infection.

Every year, around 200 million people from 100 different countries take part in Global Handwashing Day.

Hands are one of the biggest spreaders of germs, so by washing them regularly you reduce the risk of infection, and ultimately prevent people around you – your friends, family or work colleagues – from falling ill.

Preventing germs from circulating will help reduce the spread of flu, stomach bugs and other winter illnesses. By washing your hands with soap and warm water, as well as cleaning household surfaces on a regular basis, you can significantly reduce the spread of the germs that cause these infections.
