Take the Test When Offered - supporting Bowel Cancer awareness month

Bowel cancer is the fourth most common cancer in the UK, after breast, prostate and lung cancers with over 41,200 people diagnosed with bowel cancer every year in the UK. As more people live longer in Lincolnshire, local NHS leaders are urging older patients not to put their health at risk by opting out of bowel cancer screening during Bowel Cancer Awareness Month.

Easter is just around the corner with Good Friday (30 March) and Easter Monday (2 April) less than two weeks away.  With this in mind South Lincolnshire CCG is reminding patients to order their repeat prescriptions in plenty of time. 

At busy times of year like Easter it is important that we spend a few minutes thinking about our health care by ordering and collecting any repeat prescriptions at least a week in advance of the bank holiday weekend as many pharmacies will be closed. See pharmacy bank holiday opening times >>

Public invited to Governing Body meeting

Patients and the public are invited to the next Governing Body Meeting in public of NHS South Lincolnshire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), which takes place on Thursday, 29th March 2018, from 2.30pm at the Hardwicke Suite, Eventus, Sunderland Road, Northfields Industrial Estate, Market Deeping PE6 8FD.

Patients and clinicians to attend Lincolnshire cancer conference

Patients and clinicians will join together to drive improvements in cancer services and treatment in Lincolnshire at an upcoming conference.

The Lincolnshire Cancer Summit will take place on Tuesday, March 27 at the Golf Hotel in Woodhall Spa.

According to research, one in every two people in the UK will get cancer in their lifetime, with it affecting many others as a result.

The interactive event will see patients and more than 50 senior health experts discuss cancer treatment pathways. It will be an opportunity to understand the latest in cancer treatments, how we encourage local people to attend screening appointments and become cancer aware and how we support people to live with and beyond cancer.

South Lincolnshire CCG Supports National Heart Month

South Lincolnshire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is backing the British Heart Foundation’s National Heart Month, this February. With Coronary Heart Disease still the UK’s biggest killer, responsible for one death every seven minutes, the CCG has urged everyone to support the campaign. Patients, carers and the general public are urged to make some simple changes to their lifestyles to bring about long term health.

Tinnitus Week

TinnitusSouth Lincolnshire CCG is raising awareness of tinnitus during Tinnitus Week which runs from 5 to 11 February 2018.  Tinnitus is the term for, or hearing sounds that, come from inside your body, rather than from an outside source.

It's often described as "ringing in the ears", although several sounds can be heard, including buzzing, humming, grinding, hissing or whistling.

World Cancer Day - 4 February 2018

Be Clear on Cancer

To support World Cancer Day, South Lincolnshire CCG is urging patients to ‘Be Clear On Cancer’ and look out for any symptoms they may think is cancer, in which case they should contact their surgery to make an appointment to see their GP.
