As part of this year’s Lincolnshire Health Awards, Abbeyview Surgery, Crowland, has been named GP Practice Of The Year.

Now in their third year, the Lincolnshire Health Awards provide the county’s health professionals with the opportunity to celebrate the success of their colleagues, recognising the care, dedication and commitment shown by the thousands of people working in healthcare across Lincolnshire.

Being nominated for and then ultimately winning GP Practice Of The Year caps off a stellar 12 months for Abbeyview Surgery.  In 2018 the practice was a winner in the General Practice Awards, being the winner of The Collaboration with Patients and Other Providers Award.

“We were delighted to be nominated in the first place in the Lincolnshire Healthcare Awards and then thrilled to be named GP Practice Of The Year,” adds Dr Abhijit Banerjee, GP Partner, Abbeyview Surgery.  “What makes the award even more special is that the votes come from members of the public and other healthcare professionals.

“We work very hard on behalf of our patients to provide them with access to the best possible healthcare, and we are always looking at the services we offer and how we can develop them to meet the constantly changing and developing healthcare landscape, so the award feels like recognition that we are on the right track and that what we do is appreciated.”

Last year Abbeyview Surgery had the honour of being the first GP practice to be featured in the prestigious Parliamentary Review, with a feature explaining how the practice team worked in conjunction with its Patient Participation Group, to successfully create over 30 additional clinical hours a week.

“The entire Abbeyview Surgery team do a phenomenal job looking after the needs of their patients,” adds Rebecca Neno, Deputy Chief Nurse, South Lincolnshire CCG.  “The practice never stands still and is always looking for new and innovative ways to improve the lives of its patients.  On behalf of the CCG, I would like to offer our warmest congratulations to the practice, we are so pleased for them.
